We're laying low for a few weeks here to work on material for a new full-length CD. Looks like you can probably expect a summer release for that disk, which will feature some of the newish songs from the live set and a collection of material yet unheard. Plus, we've also been planning for a couple of big gigs, including Boxcar Satan's 15-year anniversary party. The party will include performances by three different Boxcar lineups playing songs both old and new, plus a reunion of San Antonio hunch-rock legends Chapstik's orinal lineup! The videos will be shown during the festival's second program of the day, which runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, go here: http://www.safilm.com/ DRUMMERLESS NO MORE After an almost four-month effort to find a drummer, we’re proud to announce that Aaron Seibert has joined Boxcar Satan for the express purpose of banging on things with wooden sticks. Aaron also plays drums in Austin noise-rock supergroup Gorch Fock, and his lengthy weird-music resume includes stints in The Snails, Jack Astronaut and Stout. We’re glad to have Aaron in the fold as a full-time member, and we're excited about starting work soon on a new, full-length CD. Look for some live dates soon. BLACK WATER RISING Boxcar Satan and our San Francisco-based friends The Graves Brothers Deluxe have released a benefit disc called "Black Water Rising." It's fun, and not too complicated (Boxcar plays Graves Brothers; Graves Brothers plays Boxcar. Boxcar plays Charley Patton; Graves Brothers plays Huey "Piano" Smith). Proceeds from sales of this four-song CD EP will be donated to groups providing free mental health care in the Gulf Coast area. Get yours today! THE DVD IS FINALLY OUT Boxcar Satan's new DVD, "No One at the Wheel," is now available, featuring seven videos by San Antonio filmmaker Brant Bumpers, a 10-song live concert and plenty of extra features.
